The community benefit fund associated with the Black Rock Wind Project was established to provide funding to community-oriented projects in the area surrounding the wind project, which is located in Mineral and Grant Counties, near Skyline, West Virginia.

The Black Rock Community Benefit Fund was established at the commissioning of the Black Rock Wind Project in 2022.

​

The Black Rock Wind Project is a 115 MW project, more than double the generating capacity of the Pinnacle Wind Farm.  Therefore, the Black Rock Community Benefit Fund's annual commitment will be more than double that of Pinnacle.

Black Rock Wind Force, LLC committed to funding this community benefit fund beginning when the project reached commercial operation status in 2022. Since it is typical for projects of this type to change ownership between the development phase and the subsequent construction and operations phases, this commitment is transferable to and binding upon any future owners of Black Rock Wind Force, LLC. 

Black Rock Wind Force, LLC agreed to the following contributions to the Community Benefit Fund:

The 115 megawatt, 23-turbine Black Rock Wind Project is located on the Allegheny front near Skyline, West Virginia. The foundation, through its Community Benefit Fund, awarded $123,000 in grants to local community organizations in 2022.
